Connie Inglish, stewardship director.

I grew up as a “Disciple” and am a strong supporter of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  As a layperson, I felt called to serve the church, not by obtaining a seminary education, but by bringing a different skill set to the ministry.  With my sociology and business degrees teamed with my church background, I have a unique perspective on stewardship and fundraising.  Because I love people and want to help church members find meaningful ways to enhance the ministry, I work hard to match donors with the right kind of volunteer or gift ministry.

I am the stewardship team member who deals with the annual fund appeals and with alumni/ae relations.

Karla Jodoin, director of communications.

I am thrilled to be a part of the PTS team during these exciting times. This part-time position has truly been a blessing. As a layperson, I feel I have been called to serve the church by using my public relations and marketing background to make a difference in the lives of students. I feel fortunate to have found such a rewarding position.  

As director of communications, my role is to create awareness of PTS through the use of all forms of media and to promote the many events and activities of PTS.

Melanie Krase, administrative assistant to stewardship.

I have been a member of the Disciples of Christ church my entire life.  It would be wonderful if others could experience the same loving community in which I was raised.  At Phillips Theological Seminary, students are given the opportunity to become leaders of these communities.  I am glad to assist this organization in such a worthy endeavor.  My active volunteer involvement in the Tulsa community also gives me great experience that could be very helpful to a non-profit educational institution.  I enjoy using my education, skills, and passion for the church in the stewardship department to foster its success.

Gary Peluso-Verdend, vice president of stewardship.

I feel called to the work of educating leaders for competent ministry—intellectually gifted and spiritually formed leaders with character, compassion, imagination, practical knowledge, and courage. I have been privileged to carry on this work at PTS for eight of the last thirteen years. It is challenging and rewarding work to foster the relationships between PTS and our donors and friends that result in the capital, human and financial, necessary to do the work of seminary education. I am an evangelist for graduate education for ministry.

Virginia (Ginny) Walker, stewardship director and the team member charged with the planned giving program.

Church and family have always been at the center of my life. I am glad that, at PTS, I can continue to keep these relationships central. 

One of the important values that inspires me at PTS is our dedication to preparing leaders to minister with discernment and grace within a highly diverse society. I use my talents as a fundraiser to help provide the needed resources to develop the very best women and men as leaders who know how to work well with diversity. 

As stewardship director my primary responsibility is to assist you in making planned gifts to PTS and to other charities such as your church. It gives me great satisfaction to help you to be an informed steward of your resources.
