Introduction

The Seminary Library consists of a collection of over 140,000 resource items and serves the Phillips Theological Seminary students, faculty and staff.  The library has an active program of acquisitions designed to provide the basic theological literature necessary to an understanding of the biblical foundations and heritage of the Christian faith, the relationship of the church to human culture, and the church's task to proclaim the Christian message in our modern age.

The library maintains extensive files of periodicals and non-book materials. More than two hundred periodical titles are received regularly, and over nine hundred discontinued or cancelled titles are maintained for research use. These include all journals of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well as many other main-line denominational journals, all major English language and some foreign language religious journals.

A Special Borrowers Policy was instituted July 1, 2003 to make the resources of the library available to the Tulsa community, area ministers, and select other groups.
